Herbal Tea

Why loose leaf teas?


Loose leaf teas have become the latest market trend for a variety of reasons. At Healing Essence we have chosen to use loose leaf teas in our herbal tea blends because:

  1. Many of the fancy/popular tea bags today are made from plastics. When heated, these plastics may break down and seep microplastics into your tea. Plastics are known endocrine disruptors (hormone system) and the form of plastic in these tea bags are no different.
  2. Loose leaf herbal tea allow the user to control the strength/flavor of the various blends.
  3. Herbal remdies used in this manner improve the extractibility of the bioactive principles (medicinal components) of herbs.




About how many servings of tea will I get per bag?


Depending how many teaspoons you use per 8 ounces of water and the type of herbal material used (i.e., root, bark, leaves, or flowers) we have seen:

  • 1 ounce = about 15-20 servings
  • 2 ounces = about 30-40 servings




What are the brewing directions?


  1. Add 1 - 2 teaspoons to 8 ounces of boiling water
  2. Cover and let steep for 5 - 10 minutes
  3. Strain if needed
  4. Sweeten as desired, and enjoy!




Are your tea blends hypoallergenic?


By their nature herbal tea cannot be considered hypoallergenic. Many herbal remedies are from families of herbs that may cause seasonal allergies in affected persons. It is important to speak with your healthcare provider before taking any herbal remedy, especially if you have known allergies to specific plants. In regards to the common allergens (i.e., nuts and seeds) please send us an email to let us know if you have any specific conerns.





Orders

When will my order ship?


Typically it will take our team 1-3 days to handpack and your herbal tea. All orders ship from our location on Saturday. Any orders placed too close to shipping day may not be shipped out until the next shipping day. Please see the shipping policy for more details.




I think my package was stolen. What should I do?


We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Please file a claim with your postal service and the police, if necessary. As a preventative measure, we can offer signature confirmation free of charge to our customers. If theft is an issue in your area, please email us once you've completed your order and we'll make sure you have to sign for your package.




How will I recieve my order?


You will receive your order via USPS, typically through First Class mail unless you select one of our other shipping options during checkout.
